TA-DA! visits Vrije Basisschool Rodenburg School in Flanders, Belgium

Our CEO had the extreme honor of providing TA-DA!’s English workshop to each and every child in the ‘Vrije Basisschool Rodenburg’ elementary school today.

The goal? Having a blast, and thus, naturally inspiring the kids to enjoy and be curious about language and culture.

Michelle is a teacher by profession (on three different continents) so we of course had story and crafting time, but it came with a twist - a magical tool the TA-DA! team has spent the last 3 years developing and bringing to life: interactive storybooks and posters. It’s the latest in paper technology, allowing kids to learn language with the simple touch of their finger. No screens, CDs, plastic, plugs or pens required. Just the touch of a little finger on paper and native speakers magically are summoned!

These kids are the first in Europe, and only the second group in the world after San Francisco and Silicon Valley, California to experience the innovation in person.

The children were a sheer delight; curious and eager to learn, repeat and explore. The older children were so hungry for information, we ended up sharing insights on paper electronics and even entrepreneurship!

Thank you for hosting us, Isabelle and team. We feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to meet you and share this day with you and the children, who by the way are fabulous conversationalists! I was so very impressed with the English of the older kids in particular. Wow!

The Vrije Basisschool Rodenburg school is located in the region of Flanders in Kortrijk, Belgium. Most of the children’s native language is Dutch and/or a Flemish dialect, but many possess a second language such as French or German.

It’s not easy to snap photos when we’re in the midst of the workshops, but here are some photos we managed to come by thanks to the teachers and staff present - thank you for sharing them with us!

If you are interested in hosting a language workshop, currently available in English, French, German, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, please contact us here at TA-DA!

If you happen to be in the San Francisco Bay Area in July, stop by and join us at the Children’s Discovery Museum on Wednesday, July 24.

Warm Greetings from Belgium,

Michelle Glorieux and the entire TA-DA! team
